Oscilla USB 300 PC Based Audiometer
MS Audio are pleased to offer an on-site Audiometric screening service.
Audiometric testing takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and is undertaken using the latest laptop-controlled audiometers and noise-reducing headphones to give the maximum sound reduction. The test comprises four steps:
  • A pre-test questionnaire to determine any physical factors which may affect an individual's hearing, such as diseases or in fact any sports or hobbies which may impair hearing, etc.

  • Otoscopic (visual) examination of the ear to ensure the canal is clear and to have look at the ear drum.

  • Audiometric test where the attendee wears the headphones and indicates the limit of their hearing at each frequency.

  • The audiometry results are then reviewed with the attendee and their meaning explained and the impact on their noise exposures.

An employers report summarising the results will be provided. This gives the employer the opportunity to look at trends and assess the best Hearing Conservation Programme for the company. A baseline test is required on joining the company then subsequent tests for the following two years, testing is every three years after this unless a change of shift pattern, change of position within the company or any changes in hearing levels are detected during the screening process.

The equipment used is a sophisticated PC based audiometer, with noise reducing headphones that gives fast and accurate results. All you will need to have is a quiet room i.e. 35-40dB ambient noise.
